Guide to visitors from outside South Africa

Visas

Visitors from many countries outside of South Africa will require a visa to visit the country, both as a tourist or on a business trip. Please contact the South African Embassy in your country of origin to find out exactly what is required to apply for a visa. Visa applications can take several weeks to process, and you are strongly advised to apply for a visa sooner rather than later, at least four weeks before you depart for South Africa.

Letter of invitation

If you require a letter of invitation to attend the SA Energy Storage 2017 conference and exhibition from EE Publishers for your visa application, firstly you will need to register and pay to attend SA Energy Storage 2017, and then please email Charmaine.manicom@ee.co.za requesting a letter of invitation and attaching a copy of your passport, airticket and proof of accommodation in South Africa.

The venue for the SA Energy Storage 2017 conference and exhibition is Emperors Palace, Kempton Park, which is just outside of South Africa’s biggest city, Johannesburg, and very close to OR Tambo International Airport, South Africa’s largest airport.

On arrival at Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport

On arrival at OR Tambo International Airport, proceed through immigration, luggage collection and customs into the international arrivals area, head straight for the Inquiries counter, and ask for the free shuttle bus to the hotel of your choice at Emperors Palace. You will be dropped off at your hotel. From your hotel, you have access to all the facilities of the Emperors Palace complex.
