The venue for the SA Energy Storage, SSEG & Smart Grid 2018 conference and exhibition is the Emperors Palace conference centre, Kempton Park, which is just outside of Johannesburg, close to OR Tambo International Airport.
Road
The Emperors Palace complex is situated adjacent to the R21 highway, and is served by the major road highways of Gauteng province connecting Johannesburg, Pretoria, Midrand and Ekurhuleni. Road access is fast and easy, although some traffic congestion may be experienced at times.
Car-hire
There are several car-hire companies that operate throughout South Africa, including Avis, Hertz, Europcar, Budget and more. All of these have major depots and offices at OR Tambo International Airport. Your hotel will be able to assist with any car-hire services required.
Taxi
There are several taxi companies serving OR Tambo International Airport, Rhodesfield Station, the Emperors Palace complex, nearby hotels and surrounding areas. Your hotel will be able to assist with any taxi services required.
Train
The high-speed Gautrain connects Johannesburg, Rosebank, Sandton, Marlboro, Hatfield, Pretoria, Centurion and Midrand stations, to Rhodesfield station and OR Tambo International Airport (which are the closest stations to the Emperors Palace complex). There are Metrorail connections at Johannesburg, Hatfield, Pretoria and Rhodesfield stations.
Bus
There is a free shuttle bus service every 20 minutes between OR Tambo International Airport and the Emperors Palace complex, that will drop off at the Emperors Palace Conference centre and hotels. In addition Gautrain buses connect neighboring areas to the various Gautrain stations.
Air
All the major local airlines operate to and from OR Tambo International Airport, including South African Airways, Mango, Kulula and more. In addition most of the world’s international airlines fly to and from OR Tambo International airport.
